Shaun Daly, M.D., is the speaker for this class. He is a professor of gastrointestinal surgery at the UCI School of Medicine. Daly will discuss the causes and symptoms of GERD and that damage it can do to the esophagus. Other topics will be the benefits of early intervention, hiatal hernias, obesity, hyperacidity, smoking and dietary habits. This program is co-sponsored by Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at CSUF, the Golden Hearts at St Jude Medical Center and Morningside retirement community.
