Negative Mood Regulation and the Psychology of Japan - OLLI-CSUF Eclectics

Event Description:
Jack Means, CSUF professor of psychology, will share his research on how people deal with negative moods. This will include how cultural factors affect mood regulation, with a particular focus on Japan. He will report on his participation in an examination of Japanese people's beliefs about their ability to regulate their negative moods, as well as the applicability of Western clinical psychology theories and techniques to Japanese psychology. Means is the coordinator of CSUF's M.S. Program in Clinical Psychology. This class is open to the public at no charge and is sponsored by Osher Lifelong Learning Institute.
