While he has managed and participated in over 20 large scale proposals for Westinghouse, Lockheed, Bath Ironworks, General Dynamics and others; he has also produced business plans for start-up companies. Professor Longshaw currently teaches "Starting & Managing A Professional Practice/Small Business (Entrepreneurism for Non-Business Majors)"

During these office hours, people who are new to entreprenership will be able to talk to Professor Longshaw about how to communicate the value in their business idea and discover the hidden gems that their idea may solve.

To make an appointment, please click the registration button above and pick the half hour timeslot that works best for you. If you are a new to entrepreneurship and have a lot of questions, you may select two half hour timeslots. Please cancel or reschedule with a 24 hour notice so that others may claim that time spot.

(One note of caution: Help provided during office hours is limited to the time available during office hours and to get the best results out of this time we strongly recommend that you have a more permanent mentor, like the ones that are attached to our Residents at the CSUF Startup Incubator.)

Jeff Longshaw holds a Masters in Entrepreneurship from USC’s Marshall School of Business as well as an MBA. He is a successful entrepreneur and consultant, currently on the board of the CSUF Startup Incubator to assist small business owners.

Additionally, if you are interested in his class, it is offered through CSUF this Fall, listed as class BUAD 310, Wednesdays, 4 pm. This class teaches students the finer points of how to start a business. Designed specifically for non-business majors, students learn the process for taking an idea forward, including how to develop a business plan, how to identify and pitch potential investors, how to organize and read financials. This is the business side of successfully going out there on your own.
